Written about a very special woman who, sadly, lives hundreds of miles away. While I had written a handful of love songs before this one, Coming Back for You is the only one that I thought was interesting and challenging enough to keep in my repertoire.
lyrics
I strayed from the beaten path
I liked what I found
I never stopped to do the math
I said "I'm Orlando bound"
I packed my bag and I set my course
Before flying south, I drove up north
To meet the people who'd send me forth
Into the world
To find you
Women quickly filled my life
So I could watch them go
I thought each one was on my side
Shows how much I know
I had my fun, I must confess
But now I'm gone, there's emptiness
I need to fill and I'll never rest
Until my world
Includes you
I saw you from across the room
I was just another face
I never thought that one day soon
I would be in your embrace
I don't conceal and I don't pretend
Somehow I became your friend
But I needed to kiss you,
to leave you would end my world
So now I'm coming back for you
